How to use
Dilution
Dilute at a percentage of 1% of the finished blend, typically 20 drops or 1ml of essential oil to 100ml of carrier oil. Do not use undiluted on the skin. You can use up to 2% dilution for use on your body or in the bath. Consult your doctor or midwife before using during pregnancy.
Aromatherapy
Use Grapefruit in your diffuser and enjoy the beautifully refreshing, vibrant fragrance.
Hair Care
Add a drop or two to your shampoo for added benefits or make your own hair mask with warm Coconut Oil and a few drops of Grapefruit Essential Oil. Massage into hair and scalp, cover with a towel, leave on for at least half an hour then wash and condition as normal. Top tip – begin to lather the shampoo before adding water to hep emulsify the oil which will help it rinse out easier.
Massage
Make your own massage blend by adding Grapefruit to your favourite massage oil base. Try experimenting by combining Grapefruit other essential oils with a carrier oil. We recommend Sweet Almond #215, Grapeseed #210 or Coconut Oil #203.
Phototoxicity
Expressed Grapefruit Oil is phototoxic, meaning that it can cause skin sensitivity and over pigmentation if skin is exposed to sunlight after using the oil. We recommend that you avoid being exposed to sunlight directly after using the oil and diluting it if you wish to use it topically.
